Who We Are

Olira Events was born from a deep-rooted connection to food, nature, and hospitality. Chef Harris Angelatos was born and raised in Kefalonia, Greece, where from a young age he was surrounded by farms, animals, and organic produce. This early exposure shaped a lasting respect for ingredients, nature, and sustainability—values that remain at the heart of Olira Events today.

With many years of experience in the hospitality industry, Harris built his career in London, working across Michelin-starred restaurants, high-end dining establishments, and private dining environments. These experiences refined his culinary approach, attention to detail, and understanding of elevated service at the highest level.

The name Olira comes from Olyra (ὄλυρα), the ancient Greek word for spelt—one of the earliest cultivated grains, valued for its nourishment and simplicity. This meaning reflects the philosophy behind Olira Events: food as nourishment, rooted in tradition, quality, and respect for ingredients.
